Minnie Onita Dixon, age 85, a lifelong resident of Leakesville, MS, passed away on Friday, August 17, 2018 at Providence Hospital of Mobile, AL. Mrs. Dixon was born November 24, 1932 in Fairford, AL. She is the daughter of the late J. W. and the late Ida (Weaver) Shepherd. She was married to the late Hugh Dixon Jr. for 46 years; he predeceased her in September of 1996.

She was employed by Lucedale Sportswear as a seamstress.
Mrs. Dixon was a faithful member of Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church for 50 + years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved her church family and was kind, generous and was loved by her many friends and family.

She is survived by two daughters: Gloria (Jerry) Hembree and LaDonnis Heckman, and three sons: Michael (Brenda) Dixon, Mitchell Dixon and Melvin (Chris) Dixon,; sister: Gertrude Smith and brother: John Wayne Shepherd; She also has 13 Grandchildren; 20 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren.

Predeceased by her sister, Marie Muntford, and brother, L.C. Shepherd.

Pall bearers will be; Blake Heckman, Sawyer Mason, Chase Heckman, Houston Barnett, Brent Heckman, and Brett Heckman.

Honorary pall bearers will be; John Riley, Kaden, Garrett, Landon, Braydon and Grayson.

The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church, 1450 Hwy 594, Leakesville, MS with Rev Gary Hickman officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Leakesville, MS.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, August 21, 2018 from 9:30-11;00am at Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church.
