Mitchell "Mickey" Vernon Stringer, 78, of Lucedale, passed away on January 11, 2023 at his home. Mickey was born at his home in Lucedale to OV and Jewel Stringer on February 4, 1944. He graduated from George County high school in 1962. He married Patsy Roberts on July 2, 1965 in Lucedale, MS at Agricola Baptist Church. He worked as a pipe fitter welder for Local Union 119 Mobile Al, until he retired. He was involved in the men's Sunday school class at Agricola Baptist Church. He was very involved in masonic lodge and Shriners. He enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family at his camp on the river hunting, fishing, and telling jokes.

Mickey is preceded in death by his parents OV and Jewel Stringer.

Mickey is survived by his loving and caring wife, Patsy Stringer; Children: Tina (Craig) Havard and Duane Stringer; Sisters: Jeanie Ballow and Linda Beasley; Grandchildren: Erin (Corbin) Pannell, Camron Welford, Cory (Haley) Havard, Taylor (John) Rouse, Ashton (Joe) Trunstell, Warren Stringer, Jacob Stringer, and Alivia Stringer.

Pallbearers: Warren Stringer, Camron Welford, Cory Havard, Burnell Stringer, Milton Driskell, Corbin Pannell, Tony Dunlap, and Terrell Barton.

Honorary Pallbearers: Hub Fisher, Lemuel Hembree, and Danny Stringer.

The family of Mickey Stringer wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Lemuel Hembree, Tony Dunlap, and Alisha Loper.

The funeral will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Agricola Baptist Church, 7268 Barton-Agricola Road, Lucedale, MS with Dr. Tommy Mitchell officiating.  Burial will be in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, Lucedale, MS.

Calling hours will be Friday, January 13, 2023 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Sigler Funeral Home, 4248 Main St., Lucedale, MS and Saturday, January 14, 2023 from 9:00am-10:00am at Agricola Baptist Church, Lucedale, MS.
