Nancy Elaine Deering, age 82, of Lucedale passed away Monday, October 6, 2025 at George Regional Medical Center of Lucedale, MS.  Mrs. Deering was born January 18, 1943 in Beverly, MA. She is the daughter of the late Gordon J. and the late Mini (Wills) Goodwin. She married James W. Deering Sr on June 15, 1958; he preceded her in death on November 3, 2004.
She is survived by brother, Robert (Nancy) Goodwin; daughter, Jewel Deering Couch; daughter, Margaret Deering Van Winkle (David); son, James Deering Jr.; son, Matthew Deering; daughter, Cleo Deering (Truevella); daughter, Ashley Deering; daughter, Selina Deering; daughter, Corrina Deering; seventeen grandchildren, Daniel Couch (Velisha), Jason Couch, Byron Colon (Reinoldo), Toshia Wallis, Andrew Couch (Leia), Patrick Couch, Steven Couch (Tisha), Austin Couch (Shelbie), Kevin Couch (DeSha), Gabriel Couch (Alyssa), Myranda Deering, Jonathan Chapman, Frances Deering Lazette (Matthew), Patricia Deering, Amber Deering, Kimberly Deering, and Richard Barnhart (Amanda); twenty-two great-grandchildren: Brett Cone, Brittany Cone, Gabriel Couch, Breanna Couch, Robert Couch, Joclyn Couch, Layla Couch, Jason Couch, Jaiden Couch, Alexis Wallis, Rileigh Couch, Jordan Couch, Wade Amodeo, Gabriel Amodeo, Blakleigh Couch, Raelynn Couch, Asher Couch, Jourdan Couch, Lucas Couch, Everly Couch, Paisley Couch, and Hadley Couch; great-great grandchild, Hazel Couch.

She is preceded in death by husband, James Deering, Sr.; father, Gordon Goodwin; mother, Mini Goodwin; brother, Roger Goodwin; sister, Dorothy Wellman.

The funeral will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at Sigler Funeral Home, 4248 Main St., Lucedale, MS. Burial will be in Biloxi National Cemetery, Biloxi, MS, with a graveside service at 1:30 pm.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, October 14, 2025 from 9:00am-10:00am at Sigler Funeral Home, 4248 Main St., Lucedale, MS.

Pallbearers will include: Matthew Deering, Patrick Couch, Kevin Couch, Gabriel Couch, Jason Couch, and Andrew Couch.
