Ola Myrl Thompson, age 82, of Lucedale passed away Sunday, July 30, 2023 at Glen Oaks Nursing Home of Lucedale, MS.  Mrs. Thompson was born April 21, 1941 in Benndale, MS. She is the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and the late Katherin Leeman Ford.  She married James Elroy Thompson on November 26, 1965; he preceded her in death on November 3, 2009.

Mrs. Thompson grew up in Antioch Methodist Church and later joined Bonnie Chapel Methodist Church in Vancleave, MS. She enjoyed flowers, birds, crocheting, making barbie doll clothing, playing piano, and listening to Elvis. She loved the Saints football team and her adopted dog, Luna.

She is survived by nieces Nellie Lowe of Salt Lake City, Utah, Brenda Grafton of Pascagoula, MS, and Deborah (Michael) Fanter of Benndale, MS; nephew, Mike (Christine) Goff of Brandon, MS; 3 great nieces; 11 great nephews; 12 great-great nieces; 13 great-great nephews; 2 great- great-great nieces; 3 great-great-great nephews; and a host of Thompson family members, cousins, and friends.

Predeceased by an infant son; her brother, Charles Ford; sister, Dolores Goff.

The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at Bonnie Chapel United Methodist Church, Wire Road, Vancleave, MS with Harrell Moore officiating.  Burial will be in Bonnie Chapel Cemetery.
