Opal Jewel Harrell, age 94, of Lucedale passed away Monday, April 10, 2023 at Sparrows Hills Personal Care Home of Lucedale, MS.  Mrs. Harrell was born December 4, 1928 in Lucedale, MS. She is the daughter of the late Medford D. and the late Loretta Gibson Howard.

She was employed by Lucedale Sportswear Factory as a Seamstress. Mrs. Harrell was a member of Barton Baptist Church as a child. As an adult, she moved to Ward community where she attended Pineview Missionary Baptist Church and then in her later years attended New Hope Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by daughter, Mary E. Harrell Edwards; daughter, Judy G. Harrell Mizell; son, Ellis "Buddy" Harrell Jr; son, Mitchell Harrell; 10 grandchildren; sisters, Elsie Harvey and Ruby Rowe

Predeceased by her son, James D Harrell, and grandson, Adam M Harrell.

The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at Sigler Funeral Home, 4248 Main St., Lucedale, MS with Rev. Norman Turner officiating.  Burial will be in Barton Baptist Church Cemetery.
