Oscar Garnett "Buddy" Sellers passed away on Friday, November 17, 2017 in Lucedale.
Born to E.G. Sellers and Bernice (Morgan) Sellers on December 18, 1935, he was owner and
editor of the George County Times in Lucedale. A graduate of Mississippi College and a veteran of the
US Army (82"d Airborne division), he enjoyed his church Lucedale United Methodist where he was a
member of the Men's Bible Class. Through the years his coffee friends and golfing buddies enriched his
days.
He is survived by his wife Sheila and daughters Tanya Sellers and Garnett Colburn and
stepdaughter Kim (Steve) Winesett; grandchildren Michael Colburn, Joseph Colburn, Morgan Colburn,
Claire Winesett, Hallie Winesett, Whit Winesett and Lily Winesett; brother-in-law Paul (Faye)
Proskewitz; and nephews George and Phil Underwood.
He was preceded in death by his parents Earnest Garnett and Bernice (Morgan) Sellers, sister
Deedy Underwood and brother-in-law P.W. Underwood.
Services will be held Tuesday, November 21,2017 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church
Lucedale with visitation from 9:30-11:00 a.m.
Pallbearers will be Vaughn Fryfogle, Gordon Fryfogle, Hendrix Brentz, Joby Miller, Tufty Dudley
and George Underwood.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Men's Bible Class of First Methodist Church.
Sigler Funeral Home is in charge of services.
