Percy Herman Parnell, Jr., age 80, of Lucedale passed away Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Ocean Springs Hospital in Ocean Springs, MS.  Mr. Parnell was born November 9, 1941 in Tibbie, AL. He is the son of the late Percy and the late Effie Alday Parnell Sr. He married Emma Kaye Parker, who preceded him in death on August 26, 1997.

He served in the Army during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1968. He was employed as a Carpenter. He was a member of Heritage Baptist Church.

He is survived by two daughters, Melanie (Joseph) Foster and Dawn Baxter (Ron Mason); five grandchildren, Deidra (Jacob) Fryfogle, Jacob Foster, Sierra Baxter, Cody Baxter, Gary "Trey" Baxter III; two great grandchildren, Koda Baxter and Kamden Baxter; one sister, Michelle (Wayne) Perry; four brothers: Victor (Becky) Parnell, Phillip (Sally) Parnell, Robert (Wilma) Parnell and Jeff (Sandra) Parnell.

Predeceased by his wife, Emma Kaye Parnell; sister, Elizabeth Kastorff; Brothers, Collier "Boe" Parnell and Randall Parnell Sr.

The funeral will be held 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Heritage Baptist Church,  with Rev. Mike Cotton officiating.  Burial will be in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, Lucedale.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, April 6, 2022 from 1:00pm-2:00pm at Heritage Baptist Church, Hwy 613, Lucedale, MS.
