Obituary

In Loving Memory of Robert David McKissick

September 29, 1957 - October 30, 2026

Robert David McKissick passed away peacefully on October 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of his wife, Juanita, and his two daughters, Sandy and Stacey.

Robert was a devoted Christian of the Pentecostal faith who loved the Lord and lived by his beliefs. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who cherished his family and those blessed to know him. A hardworking man, he spent many years as a carpenter before continuing his career with Pemco Naval Engineering, where he worked until retirement.

Robert had a wonderful sense of humor and loved joking, pulling pranks, and making others laugh and smile. He believed in faith, family, hard work, and standing up for what he believed was right. He often shared these words: "The only thing you have in LIFE is your name, so make it good!" Those words reflect the kind of man he was and the values he lived by.

His greatest joy was his family, and his greatest legacy is the love he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph L. McKissick and Julia B. McKissick, and three brothers, Hoyt, Matthew, and Michael McKissick.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 53 years, Juanita Rutledge McKissick; two daughters, Sandy (Curtis Bridges and Stacey (Robin) Brown; and five grandchildren, Dakota, Douglas, Damion Brown, Gracie, and David Bridges; a special Grandma, Mrs. Mona; siblings, Mary (the late Eugene) Vallely, Mark McKissick, Joseph McKissick, and Patricia (Alan) Livingston; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Though his presence will be missed, the love, laughter, faith, and memories he shared will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on November 8, 2026, with Rev. Mike Dillon officiating, at Sigler Funeral Home, 4248 Main St. Lucedale, MS. Burial will follow in Straightway Cemetery, 2153 Main St. Lucedale, MS.
