Robert M. Gibson, age 90, of Lucedale passed away Saturday, June 18, 2022 at his home in the Central community.  Mr. Gibson was born May 18, 1932, in Lucedale, MS.  He is the son of the late Jess and the late Velma (Adams) Gibson.  He married Louise Clark on November 13, 1969 and was a loving and devoted husband for 52 years.

He served in the US Armed Forces from Sept 9, 1950 to Aug 1, 1952.  He worked at Ingalls Shipbuilding for 42 years and retired as an electrical foreman.  He was known by many as the "Christmas Tree Man".  He spent many hours working on his beloved Christmas Tree Farm and enjoyed all the families that he was able to visit with during the Christmas season.  He was a lifelong member of Shady Grove Baptist church and loved his church family.

Mr. Gibson was a great provider and was dedicated to his family. He was dearly loved by his children and grandchildren.  He is survived by his loving wife Louise (Clark) Gibson, two daughters:  Belinda Gibson Johnson and Tabatha Gibson (Clay) Pinter, three sons; Roger (Rebecca) Gibson, Marty (Carla) Gibson and Tim (Michelle) Waller, 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by his sister:  Myrtis Gibson Mizell

Predeceased by two sons; Robert Keith "Rocky" Gibson and Baby Gibson: three brothers; Burnis Howell, J.C. Howell and Carlton Howell.

The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at Shady Grove Baptist Church, 14146 Hwy 26 West, Lucedale, MS with Rev. Bruce McKenzie officiating.  Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery, Lucedale, MS.

Calling hours will be Monday, June 20, 2022 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and June 21, 2022 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Shady Grove Baptist Church, 14146 Hwy 26 West, Lucedale, MS
