Roger L. Yates, age 79, of Lucedale passed away Monday, June 16, 2025, at Amelia's Garden of Lucedale, MS.  Mr. Yates was born on September 9, 1945 in Lucedale, MS. He is the son of the late J. T. and the late Maggie (Prysock) Yates. He married Sabra Gayle White.

He served in the Navy and worked as a boilermaker.

He is survived by wife, Sabra Gayle Yates; children, Sheri (Bill) Blankenship, Susan (Lance) Ackeret, Robin (Don) Vancleave; grandchildren, Alexis (Aiden) Aldrich, April (Dallas) Murphy, Christian Blankenship, Camden Blankenship; great grandchildren, Andrew Murphy, Ryan Aldrich, Jacie Jaskolka, Keegan Blankenship, Lilyanna Blankenship; great great grandson, Abel; bonus children, Connie (Mike) McTire, Amy (Sam) McClure, Ruben (Rachelle) Rasberry, Adrian (Robbin Williams) Rasberry and Jessica Rasberry; 16 bonus grandchildren; 9 bonus great grandchildren; brother, Wayne Yates

Predeceased by parents, J.T. and Maggie Yates former wife, Edie Crutchfield Yates; sisters, Darlene Foster, Peggy Gibson, Maudean Peacock brother, Sonny Boy Yates; grandson, Ford McClure

The funeral will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at Sigler Funeral Home, 4248 Main St., Lucedale, MS with Rev. Norman Turner officiating.  Burial will be in Bay Minette Cemetery, 919 US 31 N Bay Minette, AL 36507 on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at 2:00 pm.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 9:30-11:00AM at Sigler Funeral Home, 4248 Main St., Lucedale, MS.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Rasberry, Joshua Rasberry, William Rasberry, Luke McClure, Johnny Broderick, John McTire, Jr.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Ruben Rasberry and Adrian Rasberry.
