Russell Lawrell "Rusty" Rouse, 74, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, February 17, 2025. Visitation will be on Friday, February 21, 2025, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Shady Grove Baptist Church. Funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. with Rev. Larry Havard, Rev. Grant McLain, and Rev. David Newton officiating. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery. Rusty was born at the newly opened George County Hospital to W. A. "Al" and Marie Fairley Rouse on December 31, 1950. He attended George County High School, Class of 1968. He was a member of the First Church of Lucedale. He was the President and Funeral Director of the former George County Funeral Home and the owner of the Lucedale Memorial Company. Loved ones who preceded him in death were his parents, W. A. "Al" and Marie Fairley Rouse; brother, Gerald Alva "Jake" Rouse; brother-in-law, Mike Gartman; nieces, Allison Marie and Amanda Leigh Rouse; mother-in-law Mary Taylor and father-in-law, Clyde Ford Eubanks, Sr. Rusty is survived by his wife, Glenda Eubanks Rouse; daughter and son-in-law, Shanee (Stringer) and Timmy Cochran; grandchildren, Emmie Cochran Barker, Tate Cochran, and Timber Cochran, who was more like his son; great-grandchildren, Greer and Effiejames Barker; sister, Almarie (Greg) Tomes; sisters-in-law, Sharon Rouse, Pam (Charlie) Driskell and Regenia (Ed) Jones; brother-in-law, Clyde F "JR" (Sarah) Eubanks; nephew, Evan (Paige) Gartman and their daughter, Annibel; nieces, Debbie Rouse, and Diane (Anton) Schulte and their daughter, Daisy, and a host of other family members. Robbie Fairley, Tuffy Dudley, Mark Cumbest, Brandy Mills, Joe Davis, David Finch, Alex Lewis, Russell Graham, Duke Graham, and Hunter Eubanks will serve as Pallbearers. The Honorary Pallbearers are the Class of 1968 and fellow Mississippi Funeral Director Association members.

The funeral will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, February 21, 2025 at Shady Grove Baptist Church, 14146 Hwy 26 West, Lucedale, MS with Rev. Grant McLain officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery, Lucedale.
