The children of Shelley Kay Griffiths announce the passing of their mother on September 22, 2024.  Shelley overcame significant obstacles when she became a single mother of Tara Watson and Cole Middendorf.  She began as a business owner, wallpaper installer and then, returned to college, and obtained her degree.  She taught Kindergarten children and was well-known for having an open-door policy for her students and their parents looking for help and continued to hear from her students and their parents until her passing Shelley followed in the footsteps of her grandfather and father and became an avid gardener.  She created and maintained over an acre of tropical flora and fauna that people drove past every day to enjoy the view. Shelley attended Mercy Ministries Church and truly cherished her church family and Pastor Jamie for the comfort and fellowship that they provided.  Shelley would want us to remember her as a fun and devoted grandmother and that those who put their faith in Jesus Christ shall be saved.

Shelley's family members who celebrate her life: are her daughter, Tara Watson (Michael Watson) who lives in Oklahoma; and her son, Cole Middendorf, who provided her with tender loving care the last year of her life. Shelley's grandchildren Jordan Jones (Payton Jones) who live in Illinois; and Ariel Nix, who lives in Arkansas.  Shelley had one great-grandson, Grayson; Shelley was the daughter of William Griffiths and Donna Griffiths (Chaney), who predeceased her.  Her sister, Terri Griffiths, of the US Virgin Islands, misses her already. Her sister Marsha Griffiths, and her brother Billy Griffiths. Shelley also treasured her relationship with her friend and hair dresser of 30 years, Roger Ellis of Grand Tower, Illinois.

Shelley's family plan to hold a celebration of life to be announced later.
