Shirley Joan Moon, age 88, of Lucedale passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at George Regional Medical Center of Lucedale, MS.  Mrs. Moon was born September 5, 1936 in Onarga, IL. She is the daughter of the late Jacob L. and the late Ada Blanche Bryan Tilstra. She married John Harold Moon, who preceded her in death.

She was employed by George County School System as a Cafeteria Worker. She was a former member of Southside Baptist Church in Lucedale. In her later years, Mrs. Moon enjoyed hunting and being outdoors. She also enjoyed doing crafts.

She is survived by daughter, Christina R. (Michael Sr.) Young; son, Guy D. West; son, James A. (Veleda) West; son, Carl A. (Denice) West; 11 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; sisters, Beverly and Jackie.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025 from 2:00pm - 4:00pm at Sigler Funeral Home, 4248 Main St. Lucedale, MS 39452.
