Tommie Jean Jenkins, age 80, of Lucedale, MS died Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at home in Lucedale. Mrs. Jenkins was born October 30, 1940 in Souwilpa, AL. She is the daughter of the late Carl W. Bonner and the late Nellie Floreen (Martin) Bonner. She married David Jenkins who preceded her in death, November 13, 1985.

Mrs. Jenkins got her nursing degree from the University of Alabama. She later became the Director of the Maston School of Nursing. Her education continued at the University of South Alabama where she received her PHD in nursing. Tommie later became a Professor of Nursing, teaching classes at the University of South Alabama.

She is survived by two sons: Eric (Angela) Jenkins and Chad (Kay) Jenkins and one daughter: Amy (Jason) Jenkins-Hall, one sister: Nellie Green; 9 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandson

Predeceased by her mother, Nellie Martin Bonner, father, Carl W. Bonner, husband, David Ronald Jenkins, Son, David Craig Jenkins, brother, Jerald (Buddy) Bonner, and brother, William (Billy) Bonner.

The funeral will be held 2:00 pm on Sunday, December 13 at Sigler Funeral Home, with Rev. James Hall officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery, Lucedale.

Calling hours will be Sunday, December 13 from 1:00pm-2:00pm at Sigler Funeral Home.
