Vernon "Rex" Arnold Thaggard Sr. passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at the age of 90. He had many friends and a big family. His time was spent restoring cars, fishing, and hunting. He worked for the state for many years. You could always catch Rex on the porch drinking coffee and was always there if you needed to talk. He was a hard worker and always loved being on the tractor. He took care of everyone he met, and never once met a stranger. He was a great man and will truly be missed. Mr. Thaggard was born April 7, 1933 in Greenville, AL. He is preceded in death by his parents, Inez and Luther Thaggard, sister Sue and two brothers Jessie Frank and Harvery Lee.

Leaving to cherish his memory; 3 children: Arnold (Mary) Thaggard, Gerald Thaggard, and Kristie Thaggard; 7 grandchildren: Clifton, Christopher, Brandon, Heather, Courtney, Chad, and Ethan; twelve great grandchildren; two sisters. Donna Lynn, Gloria, ex-wife, Jessie Shows

Pallbearers include: Jason Byrd, Mark Fairley, Mike Botter, Kevin Hayden, BJ shoemaker, and Chris Hodges. Honorary pallbearers include: Jerry Cochran and Phil Rolls.

Visitation will be held Friday September 22, 2023 from 10:00am to 11:00am at Sigler Funeral Home. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00am. Burial will follow in the Cochran Thaggard Cemetery, Lucedale, MS. Rev. Larry Havard will officiate.
