Vivian Loretta Merritt, age 84, of Leakesville, MS died Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Singing River Hospital of Pascagoula, MS. Mrs. Merritt was born April 23, 1937 in Lucedale, MS. She is the daughter of the late Hobson G. Tanner and the late Elsie (Pierce) Tanner. She married Nolen J. Merritt on April 19, 1958 at Tanner Williams, AL. Loretta was employed by Century Bank. She retired from service at the bank after 50 years.

She is survived by her husband: Nolen J. Merritt, Leakesville and one daughter: Belinda (David) Tadlock of Pascagoula, MS; grandchild, Meaghan Jordan; grandchild, Kershlyn Tadlock; grandchild, Karson Tadlock; grandchild, Kayson Tadlock; grandchild, Kamryn Kirkland.

Preceded in death by: son, Craig Merritt, parents, Hob and Elsie Tanner, 3 sisters, Mayford Rush, Mildred "Dix" Tanner, Anniece "Jill" Fairley, 2 brothers, Harrell Tanner, Johnny Tanner

The funeral will be held 12:00 pm on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Sigler Funeral Home, 4248 Main St., Lucedale, MS with Brother Donnie Williamson officiating. Burial will be in Merritt Family Cemetery, Leakesville.
