Wayne Loper, age 69, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Mr. Loper was born on December 3, 1956, in George County, Mississippi, to the late Acia Eugene Loper and the late Loy V. James Loper.

Wayne was a member of the Baptist faith. He was an avid fisherman and especially loved hunting. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and cherished time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his daughter, Rita (Curtis) Archey; sister, Wanda Loper; grandchildren, Nathan Davis, Dylan Davis, Hunter Loper, Trinity Loper, Lori Turnage, and Michael Woodard; great-grandchildren, Jamie, Nate, Elijah, and Aubree.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Loper; daughter, Regina Loper; sister, Emma Loper; brothers, Joe Loper and Steven Loper.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 22, 2026, at Sigler Funeral Home, 4248 Main Street, Lucedale. Burial will follow in James Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 22, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. at Sigler Funeral Home, 4248 Main Street Lucedale.

Pallbearers will be Nathan Davis, Dylan Davis, Michael Woodard, Rocky Musgrove, and Curtis Archey.
