Willard Irvin Mason, age 93, of Lucedale, MS passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024, at George Regional Medical Center of Lucedale, MS.  Mr. Mason was born December 1, 1930, in Lucedale, MS. He is the son of the late Dennie Mason and the late Rose Ida Marine (Green) Mason.

Willard was a hard worker who began his career at the International Paper Mill in Mobile while he was still in high school to support his parents and siblings.  After leaving the paper mill he drove the gas truck for the local gas company.  He began working for Liberty National Life Insurance in 1970 from where he retired.  He began traveling around the south with circuit preachers attending revivals and teaching music schools at many churches.  He was a faithful servant to his church and his Lord.  He loved farming and wagon rides with friends. He will be lovingly remembered as a man who loved God, food, family, music, and jokes.

He is survived by four daughters: Oneida (Mitchell) Christian, Gretta Martin, Vera (Albert) Reed and Amelia (Gene) Reed,;  one sister: Genda (Jim) Patterson and one brother: Harold Mason; grandchild, Michael Christian; grandchild, Kelly Head; grandchild, Braden Martin; grandchild, Logan Martin; grandchild, Corey Reed; grandchild, Jerat (Leanna) Reed; grandchild, Tara Reed; grandchild, Leah (Wyatt) Burge; grandchild, Jonathan (Laura) Reed; Great grandchild, Dawson Burge; Great grandchild, Emmaleigh Reed; Great grandchild, Oaklee Reed.

The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, Brushy Creek Road, Lucedale, MS.  Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery, Lucedale following the services.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, February 27, 2024, from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Sigler Funeral Home, 4248 Main St., Lucedale, MS and Wednesday, February 28 from 10:00-11:00am at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.
