Willene Eubanks,74, passed away peacefully around 1 a.m on November 12th, 2022 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. Our angel was ready to pass through those heavenly gates to dance on those streets of gold. She's pain free and with Jesus and loved ones she longed to see. She was and always will be so loved. 🙏🏻🙏🏻💕 Mrs. Eubanks was born March 27, 1948 in Lucedale, MS to the late William Everett (Annie "Pearlie") Eubanks.

Willene is survived by 2 brothers, Don Eubanks (Janet) and Knoxie Eubanks  of Leakesville. She was preceded in death by her parents: William Everett Eubanks and Annie "Pearlie" Eubanks of the Bexley Community.  She was also preceded in death by brother Everette "Pete" Eubanks (Bobby Joe) of Bexley and sisters Mellie Jane Eubanks Holifield (Jimmy) and Vonnie Dean Eubanks Guthrie (Glen) of Laurel, and Sarah Beth Eubanks Dickerson (Bill) of Lucedale, and Sister-in-law Sharon Eubanks of Leakesville.

Willene is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and extended family and friends who loved her dearly, especially the devoted staff and residents of Brookwood Group Home in Sumrall, MS.

For many years after her parents passed away, she had 4 loving family guardians, Vonnie Dean (Eubanks) Guthrie, Mellie Jane (Eubanks) Holifield, Glenda Guthrie Shows, and Melissa Ann "Lisa/Missy" Holifield who cherished her and shared life's special occasions. Upon the passing of the 3 other family guardians, Melissa promised that she would take care of Willene —- one of Vonnie Dean Guthrie's final requests.  As her niece and final guardian, Melissa was with Willene through good and bad times and developed such a sweet and special bond.  There are many things in life that humble us, but a special needs person truly teaches us unconditional love. 💔💕

Willene was a resident of Brookwood Group Home, a division of Ellisville State School, in Sumrall, MS.

The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Sigler Funeral Home, 4248 Main St., Lucedale, MS with Rev. Larry Havard officiating.  Burial will be in Ball Cemetery.
