William David Smith, age 73, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2025.  Mr. Smith was born August 6, 1951 in Hattiesburg, MS. He is the son of the late Homer Oscar and the late Cohen (Yelverton) Smith.

He was a member of the Sons of the Confederate Veterans.

He is survived by one daughter: Katie Marie Adeson; two sisters: Amy Jo (Rick) Wilson and Ruby Diane Barron; brother: Karl (Beth) Smith; devoted friend, Paula Schultz; two grandchildren: Ashby and Saige Thorneycroft.

The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at McLain Church, McLain, MS with Rev. David Newton officiating.  Burial will be in McLain Cemetery, McLain, MS.

Calling hours will be Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 10:00-11:00am at McLain Church, McLain, MS.

Pallbearers include Karson Tolbert, Kaden Tolbert, Ethan Ardoin, Nicholas Barron, Matthew Smith, Cohen Wilson and honorary pallbearers include Jerry Woods and Henry Braddock.
