Wille Avon Evans, Willie, age 76, was born on October 9, 1946, in George County, MS, and passed away peacefully on August 11, 2023, at home. He was a faithful member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. Wilie served in many capacities at Antioch through the years. He has been an ordained deacon since November 28, 2003. During his time at Antioch, he served as Youth Director, Youth Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Director, and was a full-time staff member of Antioch Christian Academy for the first thirteen years of the history of the school. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War, 1966-1968. He received a "Quilt of Valor" for his service to our great nation. He retired from Singing River Electric Power Association after 25 years of service as a lineman with their company. He was a faithful husband, dad, pop, family member, and friend to so many.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Virgie Evans, brothers, Frankie, Merle, Gerald, and sisters, Becky, and Kay.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 55 years, Brenda; their daughter, Rita Ann (Mark) Mizell; granddaughter, Laken Arlana Mizell; great grandson, Eric Cash Westbrook; brother, Richard (Brenda) Evans; and numerous other relatives and friends. He always had a smile and kind words. He will be greatly missed by all that know him.

The funeral will be held 10:00 am on Monday, August 14, 2023 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 114 Old Mobile Hwy, Lucedale, MS with Rev. Haden Lee and Rev. Jeff Morris officiating.

Calling hours will be Sunday, August 13, 2023 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, and again Monday, August 14, 2023 from 9:00-10:00am at Antioch Baptist Church.

Graveside services will be led by Bro. Jason Howard at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 5115 Brushy Creek Road, Lucedale, MS, immediately following the service. Military honors will be observed during the services.

Pall bearers: Jimbo Evans, Stevie Taylor, Ricky Taylor, Chad Evans, Chris Taylor, Terry Brockway, Josh Knowles, and Allen Poole.

Honorary pall bearers: Antioch MBC Deacons, Singing River FPA Linemen, nephews, great nephews, and great great nephews.
