Willis Don Morris, age 76, of Lucedale, passed away on March 4, 2024 at in Mobile, AL.  Mr. Morris was born October 25, 1947 in Ochiltree County, TX to the late Willis E. and the late Betty Lou Hamilton Morris King.  He married Roberta "Bobbie" Varnadore on January 27, 1990.

Don served his country in Vietnam and was a Purple Heart Recipient and was a member of the Purple Heart Association. He also received the Army Commendation Medal for Heroism in the Republic of Vietnam on March 25, 1968. He was employed at Ingalls Shipbuilding in the Planning Yard Engineering Section for 30 years, which he retired from.

Don is survived by his wife of 34 years, Roberta Ann "Bobbie" (Varnadore) Morris; daughter, Dawn Faye (Jimmy) Orr; two grandchildren: Tarrin (Nick) Prassenos and Skyler (Devin) Mason; three great grandchildren: Jaxon and Shelby Prassenos and Xander Mason; in-laws: Betty Ann Briscoe, Laura Varnadore, and Roger Varnadore; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

He is preceded in death by: parents, Willis Morris and Betty King; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Mildred Varnadore; siblings: Ronald Lee (Jill) Morris, Patrick (Michelle) Morris, and Gerry Morris; stepdaughter, Christina Marie Knight; in-laws: Glen and Barbara Havard, Tommy and Annette Gibson, Guy and Martha Middleton, and Robert "Buddy" Varnadore, Jr.

Don was dearly loved by his family, friends, and puppies. He was extremely big-hearted and would do anything for anyone.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at the VA Cemetery, Biloxi, MS, where he will be laid to rest.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, March 12, 2024 from 9:30am-11:00am at Sigler Funeral Home Inc., 4248 Main St., Lucedale, MS.
